After lots of hard work we are now a matter of days away from our official opening on 12th December. If you have a friend or family member that you think might like to come and see the new centre on the opening day then do get in touch for more details. 8th December
We are only a few days away from our official opening on 12th December and are now very excited. We are just making the finishing touches and getting ready to celebrate all the hard work that has been done and all the new opportunities this represents for our current and future clients. 2nd December
Another busy week for us has seen the new display vinyl on the windows and our new wall sign. We have been furiously cleaning to get things ready for all the furniture to go in. And realizing just how much extra space we are going to have!! The staff will be getting a preview this week, so they are ready to help our clients gradually transition to the new location.

25th November
The move is getting very close so a lot is happening. External wall and window signs have been finalised and are booked to be installed next week. The security system has been fitted. The vinyl is about to be laid and we have also seen some different colours in some of the rooms this week as well.

19th November
Work is continuing on the kitchen and the side-opening oven has been installed to make it accessible for wheelchair users. The laundry room is awaiting its white goods. The hard-wearing vinyl has been selected for all these areas and is due to be delivered shortly. We have also taken delivery of our new entrance mat!

10th November
We have chosen the specialist no-slip wet room flooring for the personal care room. And whilst we are looking forward to all new fixtures and fittings, we are bringing some important and meaningful things with us from the current centre.

A few of our clients have been helping laminate the signs from our Makaton Sign Wall to ensure we can take them to our new premises and can continue to use them for a long time to come.
3rd November
​Lots is happening this week. We have more colours going up in other rooms and one of the kitchens is currently being revamped. We are awaiting delivery of the wall panelling for the personal care room and are very excited to be choosing the flooring this week so we have a busy week ahead.
27th October
Colour has arrived at the new Oak Lodge building! Coupled with the abundant natural light, it is already making the space feel warmer and more fun. Our new location uses a "visual map" with different colours for distinct zones. This helps everyone quickly understand the purpose of a space and locate it independently on different floors.
20th October
We are looking forward to seeing the first coat of paint going on the walls this week. Behind the scenes have been busy getting everything ready for the new areas such as new decor, TVs, and bathroom and kitchen facilities. We have also been making plans for our launch day, when there be a chance for everyone to come and see the new facilities. Stay tuned for the date of the launch and further details as more things come together!
13th October
​The contractors are very busy in our new premises which is all very exciting for us. With the partitions up it is much easier for us to envisage exactly how the new layout will be. Now we are able to see the walls in place, rather than looking at a floor plan, it feels much bigger and it is great to see how much more space we are going to have in the new location. And of course all the doors are extra wide to ensure they are accessible to all.
6th October
We're focusing on wrapping up the final touches for how the interior will look. We're excited to see the new place taking shape and becoming bright and welcoming. Our new centre features spacious, well-lit rooms with natural light. This creates a positive and calming atmosphere for everyone. Keep an eye out - we'll be sharing more details week by week!
29th September
As we move forward with the preparation of our new Oak Lodge site, we've been actively engaging with our clients and staff to ensure their voices are heard. We've received some valuable feedback, and key suggestions highlight a need for an expanded personal care space and increased toilet facilities. We're excited to confirm that we will be able to offer these facilities in our new premises and create a welcoming and functional environment that meets the needs of our clients.
22nd September
Our floor plans are coming on nicely as we are considering the sort of rooms and areas we want to have in our new premises. We are looking forward to having a number of break out rooms so everyone can take themselves off for a bit of peace and quiet and away from all the new activities that will be going on in the rest of the centre.
15th September
Behind the scenes, we're busy getting into the new site, taking all the measurements, and creating the perfect floor plans. Our goal is to make sure every corner of our new home is designed to support the unique needs of our clients and staff, creating a space that's not just bigger, but truly amazing for everyone. We can't wait to show you everything.
8th September
We are pleased to announce all the paperwork is done and we have our new home. We will be working hard over the next few weeks. We will be in before the end of 2025 but will confirm definite dates as soon as we have them.​
1st September
Planning is well underway for all the extra facilities that our new premises will offer, we are very excited to be soon be able to announce some of the details. We have big plans to incorporate the latest thinking around day centres and provide a number of specialist areas, including a large sensory room
25th August
The paperwork has already started and shortly we will be the new owners of our new premises. It is located within walking distance of the town centre, but also provides parking, so it is convenient however you want to get to us. The significantly larger premises mean we will be able to accommodation many more clients than at our current site. Purchasing the property also provides both us and our clients with reassurance that we will be here for many years to come. Keep any eye on this page for updates!
