Why is Oak Lodge moving?
Oak Lodge is moving because the Chilterns Centre is closing due to the site being partially demolished and converted into new residential apartments, requiring all existing tenants, including Oak Lodge, to leave.
To ensure long-term stability and growth, Oak Lodge will be purchasing its own premises and creating a bespoke space. This gives us more capacity, improved facilities, and a secure future for our clients and families.
When exactly will the move happen?
We plan to move to the new site in December 2025. We will confirm the exact date nearer the time and provide plenty of notice
Where are the new premises?
The new premises will be on Hughenden Avenue, High Wycombe. It remains within walking distance of the town centre but is also convenient for bus stops. Morrisons and Hughenden Park are both close by.
How will families be kept updated?
We will keep families informed through regular newsletters and emails. Important updates will also be shared on the Oak Lodge website https://www.oak-lodge.uk/
Will there be any changes to daily routines?
​No. While we remain at The Chilterns there will be no change in hours, days or routines for any of our clients. The current day to day operation will remain the same throughout this process, with the only change being that Charlie may not be in the building as much. Once we have moved the opening hours and days, will still remain the same, with many of the routines also continuing as they are now, but with new opportunities and routines being created for further independence and fun.
Will there be an opportunity to visit before the move?
Yes. We plan to organise an open day for clients, families, and carers before the move so everyone can see the new space and ask questions.
